I have just finished my first month using your product and have been very pleased with the system so far. I would just like to mention some issues that are swaying me from continuing or closing my account.

I run an ambulance service and schedule two employees for one shift to cover my trucks and the lack of ability to view the shifts in sequential order or any type of order for that matter is very troublesome and has caused me to double schedule just because I couldn't tell who I had working one shift due to the spread out nature of the scheduler.

I have to print out the schedule because no matter how good any solution to scheduling you always have employees who will never check it, being able to add the open shifts to the print out would help a lot for those who fail to check the web site.

I always have to be strict with my overtime and I have yet to figure a way to prevent employees from taking an open shift without me approving it. I want them to be able to take them but before it post to the schedule it would be nice to approve or disapprove to keep my overtime down.

Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts and look forward to continuing to use your product.
Mike

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

You can print out the Open Shifts by syncing your schedule to google, ical, or outlook. Make sure you subscribe to the open shifts calendar. This way you can print them out.

For more information on syncing calendars click this link:

There is not a way for you to approve who takes an open shift. However, you can decide who has access to take the open shift by "assigning" employees to the open shift.

We'll consider your suggestions as we discuss our development road map. Not all suggestions get implemented into our system, but we do evaluate all of them and consider how they would impact and benefit other users of When I Work.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Angie
